This is Charlie pictured at about 6 months of age , about a week after this picture was taken Charlie managed to escape from his garden and was hit by a car, the vet didnt hold out much hope at all for Charlie and was doubtfull he would make it through the night ,but Charlie was not ready to give up on life just yet .Charlie was moved to Gillabbey vets in co. Cork where he stayed for a number of weeks and had alot of extensive surgery.Charlie had his back leg amputated dispite the team in Gillabbeys best efforts .Charlie is now back at home where he is enjoying life to the full , no one has told Charlie he is missing a leg ! and so far reports are that he hasn't noticed himself  , it has not stopped him from getting on with life as before , even if he is a little slower . A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Gillabbey for all that they done for Charlie .We will be forever gratefull.Charlie lives in co wexford with my sister and her family .
